The Michigan Nanny Authority is now interviewing for the following position:

A loving family in Holland is looking to hire a Long-Term Part-Time Nanny for 45 hours every other week!

Professional parents are looking to hire an experienced and reliable Nanny to provide top-notch loving care and consistent learning and development to the family’s 3.5-year-old daughter.  The mother works a 7-day-on/7-day-off schedule from Friday to Thursday, so Nanny will work Friday on Week 1 (9 total hours) and Monday through Thursday on Week 2 (36 total hours) on a consistent basis for a total of 45 hours every two weeks.  On the days Nanny works, the schedule will be 6:30am to 3:30pm.  Nanny may also be asked to work the occasional later evening or weekend shift if the father is mandated to work later or during a weekend that the mother is working; Nanny will have 2 weeks notice if an evening or weekend shift is needed.  Desired start date is Friday, April 30th, 2021 and interviews are available immediately.  The family is open to having a Nanny bring their own child of similar age to work with them.

The Nanny will partner with the parents to care for the emotional, social, developmental, and educational needs of the preschool-aged girl.  They will be a loving, maternal caregiver who is invested in the girl’s health, safety, and growth.  They will help with teaching early preschool skills, like letter, shape, color, and number recognition, language development, and will use playtime to encourage sensory exploration and motor skill development.

The Nanny will also be responsible for light housekeeping, including doing the girl’s laundry, tidying and maintaining organization in the her bedroom and play areas, and doing dishes and other clean up after meals and activities.

The family would like Nanny to be comfortable with their two friendly dogs.  They should not have allergies to dogs and ideally will help out by letting the dogs into the fenced backyard as needed.

The ideal Nanny for this family is friendly, easy-going, and kind to everyone.  They are incredibly flexible and reliable, and able to accommodate the parents’ unusual work schedule.  They are a maternal and loving caregiver and believe in laying an early foundation for learning by engaging the child with books, songs, toys, and exploring the world around her.  They will have a minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience working with children and excellent references.  Their knowledge and experience will be a valuable resource for the parents, and will give them confidence in their ability to handle anything that comes their way.  They will be comfortable and confident in keeping open lines of communication with the parents.

This position requires a long-term commitment to the family, and preference will be given to a candidate who is able to stay for more than two years.  Pay will start at $19-22 per hour, and Nanny will have guaranteed pay, paid time off, paid holidays, mileage reimbursement, and other standard nanny benefits.  Details will be discussed with qualified nannies at an in-person interview.

The right candidate:

  • Will have AT LEAST two years of part- or full-time nanny experience, or at least two years in a daycare or classroom setting.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and legal to work in the USA.
  • Will have her own reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
